Rates:

The Word Scientist charges a per-page fee averaging from $2-5 per page, depending on the specific needs of your project and the detail required to complete the project. Proofreading and copyediting fees are determined after the work is formatted using 8.5 x 11-inch paper, 1-inch margins all around, double-spaced text, and 12-point font. There are exceptions to these formatting guidelines, so please contact The Word Scientist with any questions regarding your project.

Paper copies are $.10/page.

We will speak to you about your specific needs so that we agree upon the definition of the terms “proofreading,” “copyediting,” and “copywriting.” Some projects—be it creative or formal writing—may just require proofreading for grammar and spelling, while others may get more involved with copyediting of content and language or writing of original copy using certain information or predetermined guidelines. Every project has specific needs, and we will discuss your expectations in order to give you an estimate of total cost. Consultations are always free!

A deposit of half of the estimated total cost may be required for larger projects. The balance is billed to you upon completion of the project.
